Analysis and Commentary: The Town of Willing has a population of 1,228 according to the U.S. Census (2010), and covers 36.1 square miles of land. It was first settled in 1819. Geographically, it is located in the southern part of Allegany County, south of the Village of Wellsville. Both New York State Routes 19 and 248 run through town.
In the fall of 1884, a tornado touched down, and killed several people and destroyed property. A record of many who served in the Civil War was lost, when the Town records went missing.
The District Attorney is scheduled to be at the Willing Town Court every 1st Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
