The Town Clerk’s office is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. except for holidays. Madrid Town Court is held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
Security: The court is a secure place, as such all litigants will be asked to walk through a magnetometer. Please turn off all electronic devices and dispose of food and beverages.
Sign-In: Please be sure to sign-in with the court clerk. Failure to notifying the court clerk that you are present could result in your case not being calld.
Plea: The majority of cases are resolved via plea bargaining. In lieu of having a trial, it may be possible to resolve a traffic matter with a lesser included charge. Most resolution will involve a fine and a surcharge. The surcharge is additional monies payable at the end of case that are paid to New York State.
Suspension: There are many reasons as to why a license can be suspended. Some reasons include failure to answering a ticket, failure to paying court fines, accumulating 11 points, or receiving 2 work zone violations.
