The town of Putnam lies in northern Washington County in Adirondack State Park, along the border of the State of Vermont and Lake Champlain. The town has a population of 645 (2000 U. S. Census), and covers 35.5 square miles. The town includes the hamlets of Putnam and Putnam Station, which are situated along County Routes 2 and/or 3, and New York State Route 22.
The Court Clerk’s office is open every Wednesday from 9:00 to 1 1:00 a.m., and appointments can be made for other hours. All messages left on the Justice Office phone will be answered. Regular court hours for 1st appearance, traffic and vehicle citations is held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Putnam Town Hall.
