The Town of Scio was settled about 1805 by Joseph Knight, for whom Knight’s Creek is named. The creek flows into the Genesee River. A hamlet of Knight Creek is also situated in southern Scio, along the creek. The area is served by New York State Route 19 and County Roads 9 & 10.
The Scio Justice Court is located where County Road 10 (CR 10) meets State Route 19. Court is in session every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. DA Night is scheduled for every 4th Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m.
