The Town of McDonough has a population of 886 (2010 U.S. Census), and covers almost 40 square miles; which includes Genegantslet Lake, Bowman Lake State Park and Lake Ludlow. First settled in 1795, the town is situated in western Chenango County near the intersection of New York State Route 220 and County Road 5. County Roads 7 and 8 also serve the area of town.
The clerk’s office is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Court is in session on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
